Gut Check

When you watch CNN or read the NYT, it seems a forgone conclusion that Obama will be reelected. But, when you switch over to FNC it seems Romney is gonna pull off the impossible. Dick Morris, Clinton's pollster, is saying that not only will Romney win, but that he'll win big. And, Karl Rove (a political genius by anyone's standards) says the numbers point to Mitt.

But, four days out from the election, I'm wondering what regular folks are thinking...? Not what you're hoping will happen, but your gut feeling about what the announcement will be Tuesday night...

Who Will Win on Tuesday?

I think Romney is going pull states that were considered safe for Obama. Maine, Colorado, hopefully PA. I don't think Ohio is going to matter.

We have had total or near strangers tell us that they voted for the One last time, but would not do so again.
I am both hopeful and fearful at the same time.

Rove is extremely smart but completely biased and evil. Morris is a frickin' idiot when it comes to predicting this stuff and just looking at him I would guess he smells like a troll.

Jim: Though your thoughts on Dick Morris' body odor are fascinating...I'm much more interested to hear your thoughts on Tuesday's outcome? ;)

Jim it is strange to see you refer to Rove as 'evil' as if that means something to yuu.
Our current president has the most corrput, racist and evil administration in modern American history, and that is just fine with you.
I have no idea who will win, but since there is only one Not-Obama I will vote for Romney.

Not impressed with Morris, myself. He was sure 2008 would be Hill vs Condi and even wrote a book about it. But Rove is a different story. I heard his discussion on the way things are shaping up and the details are facinating. Not just some alphabet polls, but things like numbers of absentee ballots in specific districts, early voting numbers, etc. Quite a list. Will be interesting if someone goes back and compares his details with results.
Now, here where I live in the distrct represented by Saddam's foolish shill and friend, Baghdad Jim McDerrmot, there is no question where the vote for Prez will go, BUT, while I see more Obama signs than Romney, I see far fewer Obama signs than 2008, and many more Romney signs than I saw McCain signs. Is this a sign?
Of course, saw more Saracudda signs last time than McCain. Just sayin'...

Ala- I think the president will win solidly (at least as far as the electoral college goes). On the swing states, I give Romney Colorado and North Carolina and I give Obama Florida, Virginia, Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio, Nevada and New Hampshire.

Bram said...

No way in hell does Obama win FL or VA. I seriously doubt all the others you mentioned too.

@RickVid: Funny you mention the signs...I was in the car for quite a while today and made my way through neighborhoods with very different demographics and I was thinking the same thing. I have barely seen any Obama signs at all...VERY, VERY different from 2008...

I sent the following e-mail to an old friend who has lived in Massachusits all his life:
"Was Romney a good Governor or did he do a lousy job and everybody was glad to see him leave office?"
My friend's response:
"He was a good governor for Mass!!! The liberals and the democrats didn't like him because he wanted stop the handouts. Also he curbed welfare!!! We've got Deval Patrick now who wants to give illegals welfare and a free college education and these idiots don't vote him out!!! I thought Obama was going to give him some type of position after he was elected to get rid of him for us. No such luck!!!"

So, COB: I have to ask the question again...if he was a good governor why will he get beaten in that state so badly?

RE: Rove being "biased and evil". It really takes a lot of gall for a leftard to call anyone ELSE biased and evil.
Jim Marquis makes himself look like such a cluck.

Jim Marquise:
I agree that Romney will probably loose Massachusits. The reason he will loose is because there is a firmly entrenched, well organized Democrat machine in that state. The machine is well practiced at lying to the brainless, stuffing ballot boxes etc. Therefore, the machine nearly always manages to deliver the necessary votes.

Very few Obama bumper stickers here in Wisconsin. Not like last time. High energy for the republicans. If Walker can win the recall here, Romney has a good chance

I'd like to see them both lose.

I honestly have no idea. The Romney signs outnumber the Obama signs, but around here, the McCain signs outnumbered them too...

I do think Romney will win FL, though.

Bram said...

I'm in suburban MA right now. Romney / Scott Brown signs easily outnumber Obama signs. But there are too many obedient Democrats in Boston, Worcester, and Springfield for it to make even a dent.

Read your Sunday Realclearpolitics, ALa. In one poll Pennsylvania is tied. VOTE! You could wake up in a Red State on Wednesday morning.
